Spanish poplar wood is officially recognized as structural wood by the standardization committees.

The Spanish Association for Standardization (UNE) and the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) have recently approved the inclusion of poplar clones MC and Luisa Avanzo of Spanish origin in the list of sawn timber suitable for structural use in buildings.

LIFE Wood for Future presents structural products at Sustainable Building Materials congress

On behalf of the research teams of the Universities of Santiago de Compostela (USC_Pemade), Granada (UGR-UIMA), and the companies Prefabricados Rodiñas and Iberolam Timber & Technology (spinoff of the UGR), the coordinator Antolino Gallego, presented the innovative structural products of the LIFE Wood for Future project (poplar-pine mixed beams and prefabricated pi slabs for mixed wood-concrete floors).
