The School of Building Engineering of the University of Granada (ETSIE) hosted the II Congress on Innovation and Sustainability in Social Housing (ISVIS 2023) on May 10 and 11, organized by the Ministry of Development, Territorial Articulation and Housing through the Housing and Rehabilitation Agency of Andalusia (AVRA) of the Regional Government of Andalusia.
In front of 400 attendees, Professor Antolino Gallego from the University of Granada, coordinator of LIFE Wood for Future, presented the proposal of mixed wood-concrete products for low carbon construction, and the collaboration with AVRA for its demonstration in an upcoming building in La Azulejera (Granada).

The 26 photographs selected in the contest organized by the University and the Marjal Producers Association, together with a sound installation, are part of the exhibition at the Galería del Carmen of the Alhama Town Hall.

A study conducted by IFAPA proves the ability of this crop to take advantage of nitrates in its growth and prevent them from contaminating groundwater. The experiment is part of the LIFE Wood for the Future project, led by the University of Granada.
