The company Biotecnología y Medioambiente S.L., through a meeting convened by the Diputación de Granada, has presented the project for the restoration of a 12 km stretch of the Dílar river from Gójar to Vegas del Genil.
This is a proposal that has arisen thanks to the participation of the Diputación de Granada in the project “LIFE Wood for Future”, which already provides for an intervention of 2 km of the river Dílar to be determined.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Deputy Delegate for Employment and Sustainable Development, has greeted the attendees and recalled the holding of the previous meeting, last February 23, 2022, during which the possible initiative was raised to the municipalities and after which all municipalities showed their agreement, so the assistance was contracted.
The purpose of the meeting was to present the analysis made by the assistance in the field and to present the reforestation proposal. Afterwards, a question and answer session was opened so that the attendees could ask questions or make suggestions.
During this turn, questions have been raised regarding the cost of implementation, on which general data have been given and referred to the document to be sent, as well as on who is responsible for making the arrangements to request the necessary authorization to the Hydrographic Confederation of the Guadalquivir. The County Council has offered to assume, if necessary, such steps.
It has been established that the draft project proposal, along with the project presentation document used during the meeting, will be sent to the municipalities and associations convened. And a deadline of July 6 has been set to send to the Provincial Council possible contributions to the draft presented. Within the same period, the town councils are asked to report on whether they will implement the proposal in all or part of the riverside of their municipality. For this assessment, the document submitted includes information on the cost of implementation in each municipality.
