Just over a year ago 430 poplars were planted in "La Nocla", only a month and a half after the farm had been ceded by the City Council of Granada to Salvemos la Vega-Vega Educa, as a demonstration plot of the project "LIFE Wood For Future", led by the UGR and in which we actively participated since its gestation.

The Consejería de Fomento, Articulación del Territorio y Vivienda de la Junta de Andalucía promotes through AVRA (Agencia de la Vivienda y Rehabilitación de Andalucía) the construction of a pilot demonstration building of the mixed wood-concrete prefabricated product, MCLamBS, developed in the LIFE Wood for Future project.
On March 17, Francisco Rescalvo, PhD of the University of Granada, presented at the Cosecha Sannas event the spinoff strategy to launch from the LIFE Wood for Future project an industrial ecosystem based on local wood from Andalusia.
After 18 months of work, the LIFE Wood for Future project has exceeded 4,000 attendees at project events and 300 news items in the written or digital press. The poplar, the tree of the people, was also the protagonist in the Inaugural Lecture of the Academic Year at the University of Granada in September 2022.
