“Share a message to convey and have representation to be a valid interlocutor with the Administration”.
The ETS de Ingeniería de Edificación (building engineering department) of the University of Granada hosted the second meeting of poplar owners of the province of Granada for the creation of the Agrupación de Ecoproductores de Chopo de la provincia, coordinated by Patricia Gómez of COSE and Eduardo Montero of the Asociación Forestal de Navarra. After four hours of intense meeting, it was possible to close the Statutes of the Group that will establish the rules of organization and operation among them with the aim of working in coordination under a common project. The statutes were ready for a final revision by internet and their definitive approval in the next meeting. The meeting reinforced the awareness of belonging to a collective to convey to society the importance of populiculture in Granada and the need to group together to make a more effective management and have a voice to defend common interests of the sector. In two or three weeks the third meeting will be held in which, in addition to approving the statutes, it is expected to elect the Board of Directors, the corporate image and the signing of the Articles of Incorporation. At this meeting a document was signed with the first signs of adhesion (16), which is expected to increase for the next meeting.
The infrastructure would have led to the destruction of more than 30 hectares of poplar groves due to the power line easement zone. “The project threatened all the work of recent years to recover the crop,” said Victoria Carreras, president of the Marjal Association.
